Unconvention is when a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators get together online, when the Stampin" Up Convention is on, and in this case it was in Brisbane. With Unconvention volunteer Demonstrators set up some challenges for us to do, with some online quizzes.

This is the first challenge I went in, which was to create 2 cards the same but one had to be for a female and the other a male. This was my creation:

 Ingredients I have used are:
Cardstock,: Wisteria Wonder, Chocolate Chip
Stamp set:  Work of Art
Stamp Ink: (female) Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride, Marina Mist, Calyso Coral
(male)  Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand , Basic Grey
Accessories: Sequins, Curly Label Punch, Dimensionals

The next Challenge was to use all the outgoing In Colours. Yes, outgoing! New colours are coming and will be released 2nd June so keep an eye out.
I put this card up using the 2013-2015 In colours,Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, and Strawberry Slush. As I didn't have a lot of the colours available I decided to make 3 more but in different arrangements, but using the same stamp set, Petal Potpourri

This is frustrating I wanted to put these three photos in one line but it is not letting me (Grrr). Anyway on to the next card.

This is a Technique Challenge. There is a number of different Techniques you can use in stamping. This is called the Bokeh technique which gives an impression of blurring as you can get in photographs. This is the first time I have used the technique and it was a lot easier do to than it looked.

Cardstock: Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Rose Red
Stamp Ink: Rose Red, Tempting Turquoise, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White craft ink
Accessories: Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Sahara Sand Lace, Sponge Daubers.

The next Challenge and the last one I completed was another Colour Challenge. We had to use Blackberry Bliss, Elegant Eggplant, Smokey Slate, and Old Olive. I have also used Whisper White.

Till next time.
Happy stamping

Cards Galore

Like I promised I have been making cards so here we go -

These three cards were made for men. Yes there hard to cards to make, maybe that's why men are so difficult to choose gifts.for.

This first card is made using the Stamp set "Wetlands". A set that I have had for some time but is the first time I have used it. The background is sponged. Products I have used are:
Stamp Set: Wetlands
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Stamp Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Calyso Coral, Crisp Cantalope, Soft Suede.
Accesories: Large Oval punch, scallop oval punch,Snail adhesive, sponges, Dimensionals

With this card I used twine a product I don't use a lot of, but I thought it finished it of nicely. the recipe is:
Stamp Set: Big News
DSP:  Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pacific Point
Markers: Pacific Point, Night of Navy
Accessories: 2.5cm, 3.5cm, 4.4cm Circle punches, Corner punch,  silver twine, snail adhesive, Dimensionals

The third card is using the stamp set Traveller, and the reason I chose the sentiment was'nt because I know anyone retiring but I had never used it, so "Why not!"
The recipe:
Stamp set: Traveller
Card Stock:Cajun Craze, Early Espresso
DSP: Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack,
Stamp Ink: Chocolate Chip, Memento
Accessories: Snail adhesive, Word Window punch, Modern Label Punch, Neutrals Candy Dots, Dimensionals

The inspiration for this card came from a card from a card swap I was involved in for Unconvention, (and that is another Blog Post, to come) and again it is one of the very first stamp sets I bought at the beginning of the 2014-2015 catalogue release. I know, I hear you, as the 2015-2016 is being released the 2nd June, But better late than never!
The octopus was cut out by hand, and I did cut 8.
The recipe:
Stamp Set: Sea Street, Big News
DSP: Maritime
Card Stock: Real Red, Whisper White
Stamp Ink: Real Red, Smokey Slate, Blue Lagoon
Accessories: Snail Adhesive, Dimensional, sponges

Till next time;

Happy Stamping,

News Catch Up

Hi All

I haven't forgotten you, so much happening at the moment, but I do have some photos of cards for you, just need to work out how to do a watermark successfully. Yes I am technologically challenged at times, particularly when I am not familiar with new programs. Hopefully I will have them up before the new Stampin' Up catalogue comes out in June. There will even be some with new techniques I have not tried before.

Off now to try that watermark now.

Happy Stamping

At Last

Its been such a long time since I have reported here but it does not mean that I have not been busy. I have made several Christmas cards which I have photographed to show but it won't be tonight. Tonight I am posting the card that I I have done for Sunny Challenges and creations challenge sketch. This sketch asked for non traditional Christmas colours and ornament (for want of a better word). This is what I came up with-

Card stock- Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Naturals Ivory
Ink- Chocolate Chip
Markers- More  Mustard, Summer Starfruit
Stamp Set-Teeny Tiny Sentiments and Zoo Review
Perfect Polka Dots Folder

Why a Giraffe? It was the closest stamp I had to a deer in my supplies.
I will hopefully get more Christmas cards   I have made over the weekend.

Happy stamping.

Its all Happenning at Once

Wow! What a weekend for stamping. I found out today that I won the challenge on Sunny Challenges and Creations last week and I am also their guest designer for this week.

This is the sketch and the card is for the males in our lives. Yes! The dreaded male card that some people find so difficult to create. So be sure to go and check out the wonderful ideas that have been provided for you on sunny challenges.

This my take on the sketch-

The base cardstock is River Rock stamped with  Inspired By Nature in versamark. I've used Baja Breeze  card and stamped the grass in Wild Wasabi,  and placed the greeting from   Create a Cupcake with black Stazon. The turtle is from Nature's Nest  stamp set and is stamped in stazon.  I've used blender pens and Basic Grey, Soft Suede and Wild Wasabi inks to colour the turtle in, and placed with dimensionals over the chocolate chip card, which been stamped  using the  French Foliage set and placed on the main card using dimensionals after having the ends punched by 1" circle punch.

Cheers and happy stamping
